Mileage applies across the route. Published local service uses a $4.99-per-mile charge in addition to the base service. Longer routes may also include return travel, driver time, lodging, ferries, tolls, parking, or other direct expenses.

Peak travel periods, Sundays, early mornings, evenings, airport schedules, clinic hours, and short notice affect staffing.
Total route design
Origin, destination, return requirements, waiting, traffic exposure, parking, access, and driver return travel are considered together.
Animal and equipment
Species, number of pets, carrier dimensions, mobility, behavior, medical needs, and temperature sensitivity can affect vehicle and staffing requirements.
